No. 2 on your list of favorite famous nurses is one of the most honored women in American history, the founder of the American Red Cross — Clara Barton!
No. 3 on your list is a fictional nurse who worked in Mobile Army Surgical Hospital on the show M*A*S*H — Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan!
No. 4 on your list is another TV nurse on the popular series E.R. — Carol Hathaway!
No. 4 on your list of favorite famous nurses list was a another fictional nurse, this time from the show Scrubs — Carla Espinosa!
No. 6 on your list of favorite famous nurses list was a tie between Mary Breckinridge, who helped establish neonatal and childhood medical care systems in the U.S. and Dorothea Dix, who is best known for her efforts on behalf of the mentally ill across the country.
No. 7 on your list of favorite famous nurses was a tie between Mary Eliza Mahoney, the first African-American licensed nurse, and Mary Jane Seacole, who is best known for setting up the “British Hotel” to care for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War.
